Doctris Deluxe

The story behind the Doctris Deluxe game, a Tetris variation published by Alawar Entertainment, is that “Doctor Smith's laboratory got contaminated by malicious viruses. They are hiding from him in laboratory glassware. Please, help the doctor to disinfect the laboratory and get rid of the viruses, so that he can come back to making his medications to cure the sick.”

Doc smith drops pills from up above, pills that can eradicate the viruses. You have to position the pills correctly so they do their job – just like you had to position the pieces that fell from above in Tetris. If the virus is in a row of 3 or more pills of the same color, it will be destroyed.

There are some things you are going to like about Doctris Deluxe and some things that you are not going to like. Let’s take a look at your Doctris Deluxe experience in a logical progression and see what you are going to like and what you are not going to like.

The first step you must take should you try the game, is to get it off the web and onto your computer. The download weighs in at 8.5MB, which isn’t that much. It will not take long for the download to complete, especially if you are on a high-speed internet connection. Not having to wait a long time for a download to complete is always nice.

The next step you must take is to install the game on your Windows-powered computer. You will like that the installation process goes along smoothly and rapidly. You will not like that you cannot select where to install the game, that you are offered to change your default search provider and homepage to Ask.com, and that you are offered to install Game Box (a catalog of all the games Alawar Entertainment has to offer). You will also not like that an Alawar Games shortcut is created on the desktop without your permission and that an Alawar Games folder is placed in the Start menu – again, without your permission.

Once the game is up and running, you will like that it is a fun puzzle and logic game with 3 different game modes, 60 advanced mode levels, nice music and graphics. You will also like that you can play in full screen or in a window.

You can play the game free of charge for a trial period of 1 hour, which is a more than enough for you to figure out if the game is worth your hard earned money. You will have to get a license once the trial period is over if you want to keep playing the game.
